CD-ROM authoring and development

Many companies now offer their product catalogues on CD-ROM. These are an excellent method of allowing customers to view product lists and information on products. Compared to a printed catalogue, CD-ROMs have a number of advantages.

Inexpensive - Blank compact discs cost around 10p. Add on labels and packaging and the total cost is likely to be less than 50p. Compare this to a full colour printed catalogue.

Up to date - Printed catalogues generally have to be produced in bulk so they easily become out of date as products are added, deleted or their specifications change. CD-ROM based catalogues can be updated on a weekly or even daily basis !
